Definition River Basin District Code, as defined in the codelist.
Table RiverBasinDistricts: Unique international identifier of the RBD.
Table RiverBasinDistrictsSubUnits: Unique international identifier of the RBD to which sub-unit belongs.
Table GroundwaterBodies: Unique international identifier of the RBD to which groundwater body belongs.

Methodology for obtaining data This is a required, not null field.

First 2 characters must be the Member State’s 2-alpha character ISO country code (Greece = 'EL'. United Kingdom = 'UK').
National characters can not be used.

If the RBDCode was not officially set and confirmed by appropriate authorities or river basin district was not specified (delineated) up to now, please create "virtual" river basin district as an additional item in the RiverBasinDistricts table. Such virtual RBDcode is substitutional and temporal solution, to keep the interlinking of all levels of spatial objects which are used in SoE reporting and allow the usability of the content data.
Administrative or geographical units (e.g. catchments, regions, entire country) are suggested to be used as virtual RBDs. Please use the suffix "_TMP" at the end of any virtual RBDcode and describe briefly the status in the Remarks field in the table RiverBasinDistricts (e.g. "Unofficial RBDcode is used" or "Municipality used instead of river basin district").
Please contact ETC/ICM data manager for given water category for support, if needed.
