Definition All surfaces where natural landscape has been changed by or is under influence of human construction activities by replacing natural surfaces with artificial 2D/3D constructions or abiotic artificial materials. Artificial parts of urban and rural areas, where mankind has built settlement infrastructures. Includes: Sealed areas (buildings, other constructions and sealed flat surfaces) and non-sealed areas (no buildings, artificial and unsealed). Excludes: Urban greenery may be artificial and under human maintenance and form part of settlements, but after all it is vegetation and not to be placed here but under LCC-2 Biotic Vegetation.
