Definition	Prohibition/advice against bathing with a view to prevent bathers' exposure to pollution (Bathing water is closed for a part of season, an entire season or is permanently closed).
Methodology for obtaining data	This is a required, not null field. If "YT", bathing water is: - subject to prohibition/advice against bathing to prevent bathers’ exposure to pollution for a part of season or an entire season); - existing (BWType= "1") or new (BWType is "2"); - reported in other tables (monitoring results, seasonal information); (Note that even bathing water is closed due to prohibition/advice against bathing to prevent bathers exposure to pollution, monitoring should continue.! - more information on prohibition/advice against bathing is put in the field 3.2.6 (»ManMeas«) of the table »Seasonal information on bathing waters« and in the field 3.1.20 (»ChangeReason») of the table (Inventory of identified bathing waters) if appropriate. If "YP", bathing water is: - permanently closed and not identified as bathing water anymore; - not reported in other tables (BWType is "3") If "N": bathing water: - reported in other tables; - not reported in other tables since monitoring has not been possible due to prevented access to bathing sites and it is not under prohibition/advice against bathing to prevent bathers’ exposure to pollution; Monitoring is not possible due: a) there was an abnormal situation (not expected to occur more than once every four years); or b) there were construction works that do not change water quality (e.g. bathing facilities constructed); These works should be reported to EC in advance, so that a bathing sites can be compliant to BWD provisions. When constructions last for whole expected bathing season such a season is not part of a four-year bathing seasons needed for the assessment. Bathing season for such a site can also be shorten for a construction period. Monitoring calendar should be adopted accordingly. - provide information for absence of monitoring in the field 3.2.6 (»ManMeas») in the table »Seasonal information on bathing waters«. When a bathing water is subject to prohibition/advice against bathing to prevent bathers exposure to pollution for a part of season or an entire season has to be sampled and assessed. Only when it is no longer poor it could be opened again.
